Delicate meets Distressed with this summer outfit inspiration look… a fool-proof pairing for anyone looking for a casual yet cool and demure look. Dainty scalloped lace detailing is the perfect statement against a cool blue wash denim with the perfect pinch of distressed elements and frayed hems. This go to denim jacket has just subtle washes of distressing throughout that make it feel like it’s been everywhere, and yet it has! I searched a long time for a denim jacket I actually could fall in love with and this one hit the mark. I loved the washed out coloring and the fit is perfect without being too boxy! I’m seriously eyeing their darker version, but I don’t think it has any distressed elements or holes like this one does. But the fit is remarkable and I’ve washed it and simply thrown it in the dryer on a low heat with no issues!
I am NOT a sucker for shorts! Honestly, I hate trying to find or wear shorts because I feel like they are always so cheeky nowadays and I don’t always want that boyfriend look. These I found at Nordstrom and they were the most cool wash and while slightly shorter than what I would really care for the detailing on these was too perfect to pass up and for only $78! I actually have purchased a few pair of BlankNYC jeans and have always loved their fit. These shorts were the perfect base for a beautifully delicate top that I featured a few looks back. I love the large scale lace, the fact that it’s slightly edgy with the 3/4 length bell sleeves, and the beautiful scalloped detailing around the edges that is different! I wore a grey cotton calvin klein bra underneath that you can visibly see more so than I would normally allow, but I felt like the neutral grey really didn’t even stand out noticeably. (Plus I freaking love that bra because its so perfect for the heat!)
I kept this look super casual and easy with some very nude simple wrap sandals and a clean white tote that I nearly returned after purchasing. I thought I was crazy once I got it home for the fact that it’s white and leather, but it has surprisingly kept so well! It wipes clean so easily! I’ve carried it way more than I ever intended too, but I would say it was well worth the $98 investment. And white still just isn’t the color for you it comes in an array of other options of which I think 4 are still available.
Because the rest of my look was so neutral, clean and crisp yet feminine I decided to pair these super fab LeSpecs sunglasses! I’ve been obsessed with the color and the overly dramatic cat-eye shape. They too are available in 4 color options! Because this look is so laid back chic I opted not to wear a ton of jewelry or a big gaudy necklace and just wore a vintage cuff and let the delicate and distressed elements of this look steal the show.
