(His shirt actually says SEE YA on it in raised black letters which was definitely his M.O. for the day! Soon enough he’ll be taunting me with “see ya wouldn’t wanna BEE ya mom! )
Festival Outfit season is upon us with summer right on our heels! The Coachella style showdown kicked off yesterday and it’s quick become a place for summer outfit inspiration. I have been seeing so many amazing looks lately and loving so many of the spring summer 2016 trends that I can hardly wait for the warmer weather to style them constantly!
One trend I love is the Global-Inspired resort wear which is one of the most visual trends of the season. Encompassing a world culture melting pot of textiles and artisanal craftsmanship with everything from intricate beading to embroidery and handwork to an added depth of colorful patterns and prints to help you make a statement! Make your summer outfit an ease with any or many of these elements.
I had been eyeing these Stuart Weitzman gladiator sandals since last summer and I randomly stopped into a Nordstrom Rack recently and found them on sale! To make a great deal even better I looked online and found them even cheaper on the 6pm website and asked the manager to price match! Of course they did because Nordstrom and Nordstrom Rack will almost always price match! Did you know this?! #yourwelcome You just have to be willing to go through the effort of asking them to do so! I’m a personal stylist and shopper so I don’t mind going the extra mile to get my clients (and myself) an even better deal when possible!
This beautiful Topshop romper I spotted at Nordstrom and automatically fell in love. The beautifully bold and bright earthly print and the amazing cutout “lace” detail had me sold! And the added bonus was that I immediately knew how great the cutouts mimicked my gladiator sandals! I wish I had gotten a picture without the jacket on, but it’s a simple spaghetti strap top. I’m really not much of a shorts wearer, therefore rompers are a great alternative. I’m not huge on short shorts and I also don’t love the way shorts wear – they always seem to rise up, and that means the waist, the crotch, the tush… just annoys me. Rompers though when they fit right they are so comfortable and effortless. They usually have a little more wiggle room through the legs and simply drape on the body since there are typically straps or sleeves.
My BEE necklace I thought was a fun statement piece and all things creepy crawly seem to be making a fashion statement these days by way of jewelry and accessories like brooches and even in embroidery and beadwork! I also thought it was a fun play off Theo’s sweatshirt because it says SEE YA on it in raised black letters lol! He was definitely in the “see ya wouldn’t wanna be ya” kind of mindset this shoot day, I mean just look at the awko-taco labeled image above and the one where I’m dangling him by his ankle! The kid wouldn’t stay in the shot long enough so I improvised LOL! We shot this look together and then one of my ride or die gil-frands, Ahna, was changing him in the car in this empty little parking lot in the design district. Justin and I walked across the street to shoot in front of this cool warehouse building and I looked up and saw my child shirtless running across the empty lot haha! He’s literally So worth it!
Hope you have a blessed weekend!
