Hope you had an awesome weekend and are as excited for Monday as I am! While sadly the other half of my son’s DNA flew out to Korea yesterday for work we have TWO things to look forward to this week. First up, my mom is actually driving up from Houston today to visit for the week and usually when she’s around I feel like I get a ton done! She’s good at keeping things prioritized and “making hay while the sun is shining.” Lol. So if I have any projects or things to do it usually happens when she’s here. Second on the list for this week  is that on Saturday, Theo and I are actually flying to LA together where we will be meeting up with Tyler who will be flying back from Korea! We are staying for a week while he works out there so I’m looking forward to running around the city and beaches with Theo. We love getting out to LA and hanging around Santa Monica and walking around. So much people watching to do and great food!

On to this easy peasy lemon squeezy look! I got this lemon print top and matching pant set from Zara as an inspiration steal compared to the gorgeous Dolce and Gabanna lemon print pieces from their spring collection. While nothing will ever compare to Dolce, this was still a super fun way to add a “twist” to your look! I’ve styled it two ways one more casual and the other more business. I love olive green colors, it works great with my olive complexion and it’s such a great neutral. I got this Topshop vest in NYC like a year ago maybe and it’s been such a great piece! I love blazers and structured vests like this because they are great for taking your look to a whole new level. It just feels polished and pulled together. For the casual look, which I love, I paired it with some overly distressed denim mainly because I loved the light color with the print and darkness of the vest. You could easily opt for a sleek clean pair of denim and this look would work perfectly for a more casual work environment if jeans are allowed! I paired a skinny leopard belt for an added twist and also because it felt like something was missing. The matching lemon pants are a little higher on the wast then my jeans were so you almost get a sliver of skin, but it’s definitely not a crop top. You could choose a pair of high waisted jeans and have no problem! As for accessories I layered to choker necklaces and the solid one has a very thin chain drop which is great for creating a vertical visual. Simple kitten heel wedges are a great option for work or day because you get just enough lift while still being comfortable!

For a total business outfit I work the matching lemon print pant and top which features the lemons on opposing white and black backgrounds. This was a great way to feel like you’re almost mixing prints on an inverted look! I added my favorite structured black Helmut Lang blazer and red heels and a red lip to really pop. You obviously could opt for a more neutral pump like in black if you aren’t feeling so daring. Personally I’m totally digging the neutral causal outfit look of this, but it’s probably at an unfair advantage because I am obsessed with my vest lol! What would you do to make either of these looks your own?
