Happy Fourth of July!

Hope you all have had an amazing holiday weekend celebrating our Nation’s Independence with plenty of family and friends, hot dogs and beer, and plenty of festive outfits!

Unfortunately my other half was out of town for work and so I wasn’t feeling super festive. I pretty much worked all weekend on house bores, I mean chores. HA! I actually did finish a special project finally that I’ll share soon! It turned out so cute and sweet!

I planned this last minute Fourth of July outfit, while Theo’s had been prepared for months, thinking we would do something fun, but when it came down to it I was just in a bummed mood. Plus it’s hot and when you couple that with a two year old it makes some tasks – especially alone, slightly daunting. We opted for pool and chill, and then decided to do the American thing and order a pizza then went to our local town’s fireworks display. Of course Theo was over it like 5 minutes in to the show lol.

Despite my disparaging mood,  I was still grateful to spend the time with my baby and grateful for our freedoms that I know so many others aren’t privileged to across the world. I am also grateful for the freedom God’s Grace I have chosen to accept that will give me eternal freedom and that I may teach to my son so that prayerfully he will choose to follow God and accept in His sacrificial Grace to be his one day!

Like I said I planned my look super last minute, and just let the stars and stripes be my guide. I had just purchase this striped top for no particular reason, it was like an $8 steal, and I have had the star print scarf for a year maybe even two now! I used to LOVE wearing head wraps, I seriously wore them a ton when my hair was down to my waist b/c it’s an easy way to extend the life of your hair, meaning I was too lazy to wash it daily! Haha! Especially in the hot summer months with a silk scarf. There’s so many ways to do one and they are so fun and different. Now it’s super easy to buy the simple head turban “headbands” to try that are a little more sleek and demure if you aren’t quite comfortable with a big knot on the top of your head. I’ll link a few options below, otherwise any good silk or thin square scarf will do!
