White Hot – White Now – White Not?! Summer is around the corner and today I’m talking about how to wear white on white outfits from day to night!
It’s that time of year where white on white is becoming all the rage! It feels so fresh, clean and new and is officially considered season appropriate. Obviously a neutral, it’s a color option that pairs with anything and immediately brightens up a look! Unfortunately we often can think of white as being unflattering, by way of either washing us out or not slimming our bodies. Fortunately enough there are a multitude of styling options out there to help us vibe with white on white and look great doing so. One it’s all about proportions and two it’s about adding the perfect splash of color to your white on white ensemble! Here are some of my top quick tips on how to style your white on white outfits for summer:
Ensure your hem lengths are at correct proportions to your body!
Create leading lines in silhouettes that draw the eyes vertically up and down the body vs horizontally!
Opt for either high neck options or V-necks to keep those leading lines!
If possible opt for longer necklaces or earrings like a drop or chandelier to elongate and draw the visuals vertically!
When wearing white on white outfits use color in your jewelry to help you feel less washed out and for added fun!
I also recommend updating your foundation color as your natural tan increases throughout the season!
Learn how to use a light bronzer to add warmth and a beautiful summer glow to your face and chest!
Pop a bold bright hue on those luscious lips!
Keep hydrated with plenty of H2O to keep your skin a glow!
For my featured day to night white on white look I also incorporated the ever so popular long vest trend of the moment and it is a great styling option because it adds to the vertical aspect I mentioned before. Especially with the long V’d lapel on the front. I actually bought this one late last summer from Nordstrom, but there are SO MANY style options available at the moment (some which I’ve linked below) and in literally EVERY COLOR imaginable. I suggest starting with a neutral color that you can get a ton of use out of such as white, black, beige/tan, or grey! You can choose from a more long structured streamlined vest such as I have here or you can opt for a long trench vest which has belting options and typically more detail to it. Either way you really can’t go wrong because you can pair these with dresses, jeans, slacks, leggings, even shorts and a t-shirt! It’s such a versatile layering piece that you can wear time and time again and will even transition into the fall and winter with a light knit to a chunky knit sweater. That’s why if you’re unsure of this trend item, opt for a neutral first so you can extend the life of it.
I opted for these awesome white moto pants that I purchased from Zara last summer with the cool ribbed detailing across the knees. They have an almost identical pair now that I’ve linked below! I also love love LOVE this micro pleat tank, and which also mimics the ribbed detailing of the moto pant. Win-WIN! I seriously have worn this so many times. They actually other color options available at Zara and I am seriously considering getting them all. It’s so light and airy and has a beautiful modern effect to it and the draping of this type of micro pleating is flattering on any body type! So don’t hesitate to try it in a different silhouette like a dress or skirt! I’ll actually be sharing another option of micro pleats later this week that I ADORE.
Now to take this look from Day to Night I simply changed out my shoe option! It’s literally that easy since I opted for a white on white look with pants! I’m obsessed with my Valentino Rockstuds, but for real, these New Balance for JCrew are so on point! I will be rocking these all summer long with everything from shorts and a t-shirt to a simple cotton tank dress! Readers Beware: you will see these again! lol. I love the nude color with the pop of neon and pinkish-lilac. Even with the fun pop of color they are still pretty neutral. I’ve been dying to try a pair of their New Balance and finally took the plunge! For me I’m a mom and a personal stylist and shopper here in Dallas, Texas, so whether it’s running around town pulling my favorite looks for a client or running around after my almost two year old I always need comfy shoes that still feed my fashionable taste. The kitten heel Valentino Rockstuds are great for just that, you may prefer to opt for a more neutral option. So whether you are chasing around the kiddos by day and headed out for a quick date night or happy hour with the girls, or roles are reversed and you have work by day and play-date by night this look is so easy to recreate!
