Summer Fashion Trends came in a variety of options to try, but micro pleats are the one trend to fold into your wardrobe hands down! Of all the Spring Summer Fashion Trends of 2016 it’s clear that micro pleats are making their dent in a variety of designers designs. There’s so many options to choose from tops to skirts to dresses and even pants. Micro pleats have great movement by adding the perfect amount of flirty flounce yet still appear chic and sophisticated and can be dressed up or down!
Originally brought to the fashion forefront by Japanese designer Issey Miyake in 1993 with the launch of his Pleats Please collection, this trend can clearly be a staple in your closet for years to come. Pleats come through in some variation yearly so be sure to choose an option that you will love and can re-style again and again. The pleating texture in micro pleats is great for skirts and dresses as it adds a modern shape to any silhouette, while also remaining unstructured, so pieces drape flatteringly on any body type! It skims across the body without hugging the unwanted spots and the movement of the pleats keep the eye moving across the body rather than focusing on a particular place such as a body con dress which makes the micro pleat trend great for concealing problem areas! Choose pieces with a fabulous print like this skirt to add even more of a camouflage.
I saw this skirt and it immediately reminded me of a Valentino dress from their Resort 2016 Collection, which is probably one of my favorite collections of the season if not seasons… I would literally wear that collection every freaking day! So depressing I can’t… sigh. Butttttt, I did get all types of geeked out when I saw this skirt in H&M and it resembles elements of my Valentino dress at literally a fraction of a fraction of the cost! I’ve worn it a couple times and it will continue to be on repeat all spring/summer long! I think I’m going to style it next with some great strappy flats and a simple tank. The double print, asymmetrical hem line, and delicate micro pleat are a triple threat! And a bonus is that the waistband is elastic! So comfortable with the most gorgeous drape and movement! I also picked up this sheer striped top from H&M as well and I’m a sucker for mixing prints! It’s so fun and fashion forward! And who doesn’t love Valentino Rockstuds??! These pale pink nude ones have been my go to’s on so many outfit occasions!

1Timothy 6:11 “But you, Man of God, flee from all of this (i.e. worldly things, money, popularity, sexual immorality, sin, etc) and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance and gentleness.”
